First Week of 4th Grade

Fourth Graders had an amazing first week getting to know each other! We learned about character traits and how to "spot" our emotions. Fourth grade is learning to be "flexible" with brain exercises and flexible seating. Students presented projects from their summer reading too!

Week of June 1

This week students learned about simple machines and how the human eye works.

Week of May 17th

This week 4th grade is all about Harry Potter. As we read about potions and magical creatures, we have done our own experiments. Students were sorted into their prospective houses by doing a liquid and acid reaction "potion" to learn their house color. Students also defied matter by making Oblek which turns out to be both a liquid and a solid! 

Week of May 3

This week, butterflies emerged from  their cocoon! It is a sure sign of nice weather to come! 

Fourth grade worked with second grade to make hygiene care packages for Saint John's Hospice. They also made cards.

Week of April 26th

4th grade had the opportunity to visit 5th grade this week to interview 5th graders about life in middle school.

4th grade also enjoyed the nice weather! 

Week of April 19th

This week, 4th grade celebrated Earth Day! We went for a litter walk to help keep our community clean. We also welcomed Lady bug larvae and caterpillars have arrived! We look forward to releasing them into the organic garden when they are ready.  We also started started a plant experiment where will will root potatoes.

Week of April 12th

4th Grade is enjoying the changes Spring brings. Students have planted marigolds and lima beans. As their seeds grow, they are documenting the changes they observe. Students are eagerly awaiting the arrival of caterpillars and Lady bug larvae.  We will watch the metamorphosis process and release our new found friends in the organic garden.
